Joe loved to travel. He felt strongly about immersing himself in various cultures; Western European, South American, African, and Middle Eastern because of the insights he gained. He would often reflect on his experiences and articulated how important they were to his work as a physician and his ability to better interact with his patients, colleagues, and the community at large.
